The club was established in 1993 by Mike Swaddling

Started originally as a Ministox club, it moved to an old warehouse building in Leigh Street in 2000, other formulas were introduced and the club name was changed to WRCC. At Leigh Street, the club boasted a circuit track and an oval, and enjoyed many successful meetings here for 18 years, before the developers moved in and WRCC were forced to find new premises. Leigh Street was also the home of the RC Banger Civil War, with many enjoyable battles between drivers from the North and the South. Although now settled at The Pastures, management are still hoping to locate a permanent venue when once again they will build a circuit track as well as an oval. There is no spares shop at the club, but drivers are always willing to help each other out, and the club offers free tea & coffee, and other refreshments at very reasonable prices.
